Lexie-May Joinson danced her way into the judges’ hearts with her ballroom dancing audition alongside her friend Christopher Buttle – but she looks very different now

Britain’s Got Talent’s Lexie-May Joinson is now barely recognisable just seven years on from her phenomenal dance audition that captured the nation’s hearts.

The Manchester-born dancer, who as a 10-year-old auditioned with her friend Christopher Buttle in 2018, captivated the nation with their impeccable Latin moves.

The young pair started their dancing journey after connecting “on a website” and during the show, they impressed the judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon – with a spirited routine to Meghan Trainor’s Dear Future Husband.

Their performance received rapturous applause and earned them glowing comments from the judges.

Nevertheless, they reached only the semi finals in the year Lost Voice Guy clinched the title.Many years later, Lexie-May remains passionate about dance, having been a British National Latin Finalist.However, fans hoping to see more of Lexie-May and Christopher as a duo will be disappointed as they have since gone their separate ways, with Lexie-May teaming up with a new partner named Dylan Jones, whom she often refers to as her “best friend” on social media, reports the Express.

Pictures and videos showcasing their dance practices and competition victories abound on her Instagram, where the pair are often seen smiling triumphantly with their hard-won trophies in hand.

Most notably, they emerged victorious at this year’s Dance Promoters Association Team Match, where they represented Team North with pride.

This is a relatively new partnership. According to her Instagram account, Lexie-May and Christopher were still dancing together in 2021.

Following their appearance in the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals, they competed at a national event where they encountered Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge, Shirley Ballas.

In addition to her dancing, Lexie-May is a skilled make-up artist for dance competitions, offering her services to other dancers. She also displays her make-up skills on her page, which has been active since 2016 when she was just eight years old.
